Durham (N.C.) Hillside tailback Desmond Scott is one of those rare underclassmen football players who has already established himself as an elite prospect. The rising junior recently took visits to a pair of SEC programs, receiving verbal scholarship offers from each.

Scott first went to South Carolina, where he spent time working out at one of the Gamecock football camps. The 5-10, 180-pounder received his fourth verbal scholarship offer on the visit.

The scholarship offers from South Carolina and Georgia gives Scott a total of five verbal offers; the others, coming from North Carolina, N.C. State, and Clemson, came last summer, when Scott first became noticed as a recruit.
