EAST LANSING - Detroit Country Day's Kenny Demens did not take part in Michigan State's 7-on-7 passing camp last Saturday, but the top in-state linebacker for 2008 did make it up to East Lansing for an unofficial visit.

And after Saturday's unofficial visit, Demens indicated that he was one step closer to making a commitment to Michigan State.

Demens does not have a specific date picked out for his announcement. But the DCD standout earmarked early September as a time when he might be likely to announce his decision.
