US defeats Africa at Global Games
After a sluggish first half, the USA team turned on the jets in the second half to take down Africa, 101-52, Thursday night in the opening day of pool play at the 2007 Global Games at Moody Coliseum in Dallas.
Kansas State signee Michael Beasley paced the Americans with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Texas A&M signee DeAndre Jordan missed a double-double by one point as he chipped in 9 points and 10 boards.
"I thought we did pretty well." Jordan said. "Africa was a real tough team and real physical. We knew we had to come out and play hard against them and just use our strengths and attack their weaknesses."
