With only one major loss in the defensive backfield from last year - Brandon Meriweather - it should be a solid secondary for the Canes this fall.
There were several young players that saw time last year who will no doubt benefit from the experience.
Randy Phillips (one interception, 11 pass breakups) and Glenn Sharpe (44 tackles, two interceptions) were the primary starters last season, and assuming they continue to play well they are likely to start again this year.
