Scott is one of 2009's best
Durham (N.C.) Hillside running back Desmond Scott may be the top prospect in the Tar Heel State's class of 2009, and he has the early offer list to back it up.
"My 9th grade year, I picked up offers from Clemson, North Carolina and NC State," the 5-foot-9, 180-pound Scott said. "This summer, I've picked up offers from Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina and Georgia."
Scott, who rushed for 1,265 yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore, camped at South Carolina this summer and enjoyed the experience.
"I spent most of my time with coach (Robert) Gillespie, their running back coach, and he's just a great guy," he said. "He's very down to earth and energetic. He knows what he wants from his athletes, and he's not scared to get dirty to show them how to do it right. They have a beautiful campus, too."
