Johnson works past disappointing 2006
Manuel Johnson has been a forgotten man in the Oklahoma offensive aerial attack since showing so much promise as a true freshman back in 2005.
But it hasn't been all Johnson's fault. An injury derailed the start of his sophomore season. That came just after he collapsed from heat exhaustion during one of the Sooners' final practices before the start of the 2006 season.
When Johnson finally did get healthy, he suffered another major scare when he was knocked unconscious during the Sooners game against Texas Tech in Norman.
Johnson had one grand finale catching six passes for 57 yards and a touchdown in last year's Fiesta Bowl.
That finish ended up being just the boost Johnson needed heading into the offseason. Johnson re-dedicated himself to football with an understanding that his injuries might have been lessened by being bigger, faster and stronger.
