CSU Quarterback Report
Matt Stephens
GoldandGreenNews.com With the Rocky Mountain Showdown only five days away, the Colorado State Rams are in the full swing of things on the practice field. Depth charts were released on Monday and there's no surprise that Caleb Hanie was listed as the starter. Behind Hanie was Billy Farris at the backup spot and Grant Stuckerat third string. GoldandGreenNews.com's Matt Stephens scouted practice on Monday afternoon in Fort Collins and has broken down the quarterback position below.

2007 Colorado State Quarterback Report
|
| Name: Caleb Hanie Year: Senior Jersey #: 16 Height: 6-foot-2 Weight: 235 pounds | Report: Hanie looks solid at the starting position for the Rams. Looks very composed in the pocket and knows how to hit his receiver in stride. He does a good job at reading defensive backs and throwing the ball where an interception can never result. Had an audible miscommunication with runninback Kyle Bell during practice on Monday, but other than that it looks like Hanie is on top of his game. |
| Name: Billy Farris Year: Junior Jersey #: 15 Height: 6-foot-3 Weight: 215 pounds
| Report: Billy Farris looks solid at the backup spot for the Rams this season. He's a quick thinker who is consistent in the pocket. Farris has too much hang time his passes, especially during fade routes, which could ammount to easy interceptions. Needs to work on the counter and handling snaps. |
| Name: Grant Stucker Year: Sophomore Jersey #: 18 Height : 6-foot-2 Weight: 189 pounds
| Report: Though third string on the depth chart, Stucker shows promise. He doesn't telegraph his passes and his light weight could be an important factor in his mobility. Look for Stucker to compete with Farris for the starting job in 2008. |
| Name: Klay Kubiak Year: Freshman Jersey #: 6 Height: 6-foot-0 Weight: 190 pounds
| Report: The biggest issue for Kubiak at the quarterback position is his size. While he is very alert in the pockect, he will need to work on his accuracy when planting off his drop step. Seems to throw well on the run and has quick feet that work in his advantage. |
| Name: T.J. Borcky Jersey #: 17 Year: Freshman Height: 6-foot-4 Weight: 205 pounds
| Report: The Florida native is by far the most mobile Ram quarterback, but his accuracy is lacking. The drills that were run on Monday were more in favor of right handers rather than lefties like Borcky, but he had a hard time adjusting. He needs to work on his balance while passing, but could prove to be useful in years to come. |
| Name: Nick Neuenfeldt Jersey #: 11 Year: RS Freshman Height: 6-foot-4 Weight: 240 pounds
| Report: With a redshirt season under his belt, Neuenfeldt will most certainly be in the running at the quarterback position in years to come. He has a strong upper body that's complemented with his height. Has the ability to read defenses well and throw accurate passes while on the run. |
