O'Neill talks about his season and Michigan
When Grand Haven (Mich.) offensive tackle Dann O'Neill committed to Michigan in March, he became the second top 100 recruit to join Michigan's class of 2008. Now, nearly six months later, the Wolverines stand at 15 total commitments and have continued the momentum of that strong start.
Rivals.com ranks the 6-8, 291-pound O'Neill as the No. 71 prospect in the nation. The early commitment, however, allowed O'Neill to focus on his senior season and also improving his game.
Michigan had a big recruiting advantage with O'Neill because he grew up a fan and looked like a certainty to end up there even when schools across the country started offering early in his recruitment. Following his decision, there was never any question about the strength of his pledge and even after Michigan's stunning loss on Saturday to Appalachian State, O'Neill has no plans to go anywhere but Ann Arbor next fall.
