Amstutz: KU hitting on all cylinders
Last year Toledo handed the Jayhawks what may have been their toughest defeat of the year. Toledoplayed at a high level that night to defeat Kansas and Rockets head coach Tom Amstutz said they'll have to play at that level again if they are going to leave Lawrence with a win.
College football changes every year with graduation and injuries among other things that can happen. Amstutz said if his Rockets are going to enter Lawrence and come away with a victory they will have to repeat that same performance from last year.
"Each year is a new year," Amstutz said. "I thought we really reached down inside and played at another level last year. We're going to have to do that again to have a chance against the caliber of team like Kansas."
Toledo beat the Jayhawks on a Friday night game televised on ESPN2 in double overtime. In that game Kansas dominated the stat sheet out-gaining the Rockets 419-254. In the second half Toledo only managed one first down. It was the Jayhawks five turnovers that proved to be the difference.
