Mark Mangino started his press conference by naming the players of the week as follows:

Defensive player of the week: Joe Mortensen and James McClinton
Offensive player of the week: Anthony Collins
Special team player of the week: Marcus Herford
Scout team offensive player of the week: Xavier Rambo
Scout team defensive player of the week: Jake Schermer


Mangino's current thoughts on team:

The Jayhawks have opened up 2-0 and for the first time in the school's history has put up back-to-back 50-plus point performances.

Mangino said he was pleased with many areas of the team and they are getting better. He mentioned that the offense can improve in finishing blocks. Defensively he has liked the way they have been stopping the run.

Against Southeastern Louisiana he said the pass defense didn't have a chance to get tested much.
