Pitt offer on the horizon for Maryland QB
The Pitt coaching staff and head coach Dave Wannstedt have brought in four quarterbacks in the last three recruiting classes, but it may not have been enough, as the Panthers are now on their third quarterback in five games in 2007. In an effort to not be caught in a similar situation in the future, the Pitt coaches are scouring the high school and junior college ranks for signal-callers who can fill the ranks for the next few years.
Salisbury (MD) Wicomico quarterback Wayne Warren (6'0.5" 200) is one who has generated interest from the Pitt coaching staff lately, and that interest could be taking a step up in the near future.
Warren currently has offers from Stanford, Syracuse, Delaware, and Auburn, and in a recent interview with Rivals.com, he indicated that Pitt and Syracuse were his favorites.
