Video: Ruhland, Lake Orion claim district crown
CLARKSTON, Mich. - Ethan Ruhland and the Lake Orion Dragons earned a district championship on Friday night with a hard-fought win at Clarkston.
Lake Orion erased a halftime deficit and took a 30-20 lead behind two Ryan Broth touchdowns in the third quarter. Broth scored all four of Lake Orion's touchdowns on Friday night.
Clarkston pulled within three points on fourth quarter touchdown and mounted a drive late in the fourth quarter that ended on a failed fourth-down conversion attempt.
With the win, Ruhland and the Dragons advance to the regional semifinals where they will face defending state champion Macomb Dakota. Dakota is ranked No. 1 in the state and is working on its second consecutive undefeated season.
After the game, SpartanMag.com caught up with Ruhland for a video interview. There is also a package of highlights after the interview.
Ruhland is No. 71 in the video. He played primarily at left tackle for Lake Orion.
