Notebook: Offense looking for answers
It was the defense that took most of the heat following Auburn's 45-20 loss at Georgia Saturday night but the offense certainly didn't do much to hold up its end of the bargain.
It was probably the shock of seeing the SEC's top-ranked defense (before the game) get shredded for 417 total yards and four straight touchdowns in the final 20 minutes of the game that put the focus on that side of the ball.
On the other hand, AU's paltry 216 yards of offense was the worst output of the year, but seems more consistent for a group that's been a sore spot for most of the season.
"We've been adequate on offense," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville. "We haven't been great by any stretch of the imagination."
A quick glance at the statistics makes even "adequate" seem a bit of a stretch.
