Prater wins a state title
Future Hawkeye Shaun Prater finished his high school football career in style this past weekend winning a state championship in Nebraska's Class A. The 5-foot-10, 159-pound Prater was happy to get the win for head coach Jay Ball as Omaha Central held on for a 26-21 victory over Millard North.
Prater, who verbally committed to Iowa back in June, had one catch for 11 yards on offense and several key plays on defense. His twin brother, Shane Prater, had a 24-yard touchdown catch in the game. Shane, who is a 6-foot-0, 160-pound wide receiver and defensive back, continues to hear from the Hawkeyes, among others.
