D/FW linebacker receives A&M offer
There's a greater sense of urgency in recruiting top prospects in the state of Texas than ever before. Even before one class can be signed and delivered, offers are usually being extended to the following class to show prospects that schools are serious about recruiting them. It becomes a selling point to be able to tell someone that: "We were the first school to offer you".
In the race for Irving MacArthur linebacker Tariq Allen, a member of the 2009 class, Texas A&M made its initial impression with a couple of hours to spare.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound class of 2009 prospect has early offers from Texas A&M and Oklahoma and is gaining heavy interest from Texas and Notre Dame.
