Talented 2009 WR has two favorites
Earlier this month wide receiver Shawney Kersey made it known that two schools stood atop his list. Now he's saying that while they remain his favorites, there are other schools still in contention.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior from Woodbury, N.J. should be one of the Garden State's top skill position prospects in the Class of 2009, and he recently broke down the recruiting process.
"Michigan and West Virginia are two of my top schools," he said. "They're two of my top choices, but there are other (schools) I'll look at.
"I watched West Virginia a lot and I really like the offense."
He said he likes that the same offense will be run by Rich Rodriguez at Michigan.
Kersey holds an offer from Rutgers, so the Scarlet Knights may still be a player. Other schools are involved as well.
"This spring I'll probably get a personal trainer to work out with and go to a few camps," Kersey said. "Notre Dame, Syracuse, Maryland and Cincinnati want me to go to their Junior Days. I'll probably go just so I can check everybody out."
Kersey also said he believes UConn and Maryland may be close to offering scholarships.
