Frogs land speedy receiver

Although the 2009 recruiting season is just a month old, it hasn't stopped several teams from loading up on commitments from some impressive prospects. One team, TCU, has usually had to wait until April or May to receive it's first commitment as evident in the last two recruiting classes.

This year however, TCU has hit the recruiting scene hard and heavy and more notably a little earlier. And it has paid off with two commitments already on the list from two of top linemen from Texas. The successful start continues to build steam as the Frogs have added their third commitment to the '09 class from another one of the state's best.

Dayton receiver A.J. Dugat, announced to Purplemenace.com on Thursday that he has committed to TCU.

"I've committed to TCU," Dugat said. "I just like how everything is family up there, plus it's close, it's about three hours from home. It also has a lot of girls, and I like the colors of the school. My school is purple and white too and there's just a lot of the same things."

Dugat, who was offered while in town for the Frog junior day said he was also impressed with the facilities on campus.

"I really like the facilities," he said. "I like the rec center, I can't remember if it was the second one but I know it was just remodeled. All I know it has basketball courts, tutor labs, and a rock climbing wall, it's really nice."

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound speedster was named district 22-4A MVP as a junior and said he can;t wait to play at TCU next year.

"I talked to the coach and my parents and told them both that after I finish high school I'll be playing football at TCU."

Dugat was recruited by Coach Tademy.
