Hanna will see early playing time

SoonerScoop.com Leading up to the start of Oklahoma's 2008 recruits reporting this summer, SoonerScoop.com is taking an in-depth look at every player in Oklahoma's star studded class of 2008. Today, we forecast the future for new Sooner Tight end James Hanna.
| James Hanna |
| Position | Hometown | Instant Impact | Long-term Prognosis |
| Tight End | Flower Mound, Texas | Hanna was brought on campus to be the Sooners future pass catching tight end in their ever-growing package of two-tight end sets. With Jermaine Gresham figuring to have just one more year on campus Hanna will most likely redshirt and specialize in giving the first team offense fits as he bulks up and gets stronger. Hanna is capable of helping the Sooners this year but he comes at a position in a time that they are strong as they have been since Keith Jackson departed. | Hanna is a tremendously gifted, much beyond his current ranking, but make no mistake he is a player that figures to be Gresham's heir apparent. The 6-foot-5, 216-pound pass-catching tight end has a ways to go physically but has all of the talent to make him a dynamic option in the passing game. Look for him to become a starter in his second year on campus. |
