Iowa St. is third offer for def. end

Iowa State has been active in the state of Florida at the beginning of the Spring Evaluation Period. A new name that's been targeted in the Sunshine State is Niceville defensive end Luke Sager. Several other schools have also started waking up to the talent of the 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end as well, however.

"So far I've been offered by USF, FIU and Iowa State. FIU offered me last Thursday and South Florida offered me about two weeks ago," said Sager. "Iowa State offered me last week and I was pretty happy with it. It was sort of out of the blue. I had never talked to them on the phone. I didn't know too much about them, but they are in a good conference."

Since receiving the scholarship offer from Iowa State, Sager's contact with the Cyclones' coaching staff, particularly defensive coordinator Wayne Bolt has picked up significantly.

"I've talked to Coach Bolt and I like him a lot. He's just a really nice guy," said Sager. "My impression of the school just from talking to them is they are trying to build themselves up. I think they are trying to get on a roll."
