Chips offer Mershman
Steve Bushong
ChippewaCountry.com Some coaches and some programs believe, as the saying goes, if you have two starting quarterbacks you really have none.
Clearly, the Central Michigan football staff is not buying into this philosophy. ChippewaCountry.com has just learned that CMU has offered Aaron Mershman out of Bowling Green, Ohio.
Currently, the Chippewas are heavily recruiting several signal-callers. To go along with Mershman, CMU is also recruiting Dustin Kiel from Columbus East High School in Indiana (article coming soon).
Aaron is classified as a "pro-style" quarterback, but do not be fooled. Mershman is more than just functionally mobile; he is a legitimate running threat. Standing at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Mershman is both big enough to stand in the pocket, see over his offensive line and take the tough hit and mobile enough to pick up yards with his legs.
Aaron will be a very nice addition to whatever college he decides to attend. That being said, Mershman holds offers from Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Ball State, Bowling Green, and Akron. Do not be suprised if Miami (OH) jumps into the race for Mershman as well.
ChippewaCountry will bring you a full length article complete with an interview and quotes by Aaron by the end of the week.
Stay turned for the latest in Aaron Mershman's recruitment.
