Pitt head coach Dave Wannstedt added a rare mid-July commitment on Monday when Bronx (NY) Cardinal Hayes offensive guard Fernando Diaz gave a verbal pledge to the Panthers. Diaz becomes Pitt's sixth verbal commitment in the class of 2009.
