2010 Florida LB has BC offer
West Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer linebacker Gerald Christian already has an offer list that would make some high school seniors blush. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect looks the part of a big-time college football player already and his stock should only rise as time goes on.
Boston College is just one of several schools to extend early offers to the talented prospect.
Christian claims offers from Boston College, FIU, South Florida, West Virginia, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Rutgers and Georgia. He's hoping a couple of other schools join the mix soon.
"I don't really have any favorites," Christian explained. "I'm just trying to take it all in and get as many offers as I can right now.
"I have always been a fan of Florida State, though, so I'm hoping they offer soon. I'd like to get an offer from Florida, too. I went up to Florida on an unofficial visit this past week for their game and had a good time.
Boston College has made their interest in Christian clear, though he does not know as much about the Eagles as he would like just yet.
"I've talked to Wisconsin, Urban Meyer from Florida and I've been talking to Georgia," he said. "I haven't really talked to any of the coaches from Boston College but I know they're interested in me. I've been getting letters from them.
"I know they really want me a lot. In their letters they've said it would be big for their program if I went there. They're recruiting me as a tight end."
Christian worked on his speed and quickness in the offseason and has seen marked improvement early in his junior campaign. While BC likes Christian as a tight end, so far he has played better on the defensive side of the ball.
"We already had a kickoff game and we won that, then we won our first game 13-7. I did a lot better defensively. I didn't do too much offensively. I had about eight tackles and two sacks, but I feel like I could have done a lot better on offense."
