Freshman corner ready to step in
Neiko Thorpe has played in all six games this season. But this Saturday, he may have to start his first career game at cornerback.
Safety Mike McNeil thinks the true freshman is ready.
"I think the more and more he's played, he's gotten his confidence up," McNeil said. "I feel confident with Neiko on the field. It's all about him getting in a rhythm and getting a feel for the game."
Thorpe played the entire second half against Vanderbilt last Saturday after starter Jerraud Powers went down with a hamstring injury.
After saying it "didn't look good," after the game, AU head coach Tommy Tuberville revised Powers' status for this week saying he was day-to-day and may play against the Razorbacks.
