Junior lineman holds two offers
When the Navasota Rattlers take the field, it is hard not to immediately notice offensive tackle Aleon Calhoun. At 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds, the junior literally towers over the competition. Playing for one of the top class 3A teams in the state of Texas, he has already been noticed by several colleges.
Calhoun actually picked up his first offer as soon as schools were allowed to send them to juniors. His second one came this past weekend from a school just 20 minutes up the road.
"Oklahoma State, they sent me my first written offer. I got that on Sept. 5," Calhoun said on Sunday.
"The coach from A&M that's recruiting me (Buddy Wyatt) came by the school on Friday and also went to our game. My coach told me that they were going to be offering me on Saturday. I haven't had a chance to check the mail since Friday morning, but I'm going to do that tonight to see if it's in there."
