Vinson's Name is Fast Emerging
It was a weekend of firsts for Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna J.C. offensive tackle Jeff Vinson.
Not only did Vinson take his first official visit but saw his first major college football game as Oklahoma took on the Kansas Jayhawks. Perhaps most notably for the 6-foot-6, 348-pound offensive lineman he took his first ever plane flight and not surprisingly had to suffer some changes of flights on the way from Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to Oklahoma City.
"I had to go from here to Atlanta and then to Oklahoma City," Vinson said. "I got there at about 11:40 Friday night.
"It was my first time flying, I'm glad it was a smooth ride. It was a good ride, we found some good air!"
Vinson, who the Sooners first noticed while recruiting Mike Balogun last year. Vinson caught the eye of Oklahoma offensive line coach James Patton and the two have worked hard to built up a good relationship.
