Will Geathers follow brothers?
Kwame Geathers is one of the biggest prospects in the state of South Carolina in 2009. The versatile lineman has a number of impressive offers, but will the Carvers Bay star follow one of his older brothers?
The 6-foot-5, 320 pound lineman out of Carvers Bay has offers from a number of schools like Florida State, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, and South Carolina amongst others.
Two older brothers Robert and Clifton signed with two of those schools not too long ago. Robert signed with the Dawgs and played between the hedges before getting drafted and he is now starting at defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals while Clifton is a sophomore at South Carolina.
Both of those schools are in pursuit of the younger Geathers.
"USC (South Carolina), Georgia, and UCF are recruiting me the hardest," said a soft spoken Geathers.
Even though he has connections to both of those schools, he is not ready to name one of them his leader just yet. He plans to trim his list within the next four to six weeks.
"I really do not have a favorite right now. I will probably narrow it down after my football season when I start taking my official visits."
The Coach recruiting Geathers for UGA is defensive tackle coach Rodney Garner. He has known Kwame for some time.
"I have a good relationship with Coach Garner and I have known him since my older brother Robert played there. He calls me sometimes and we talk a little bit and I like him as a coach. He is also recruiting me as a defensive tackle."
He has spent more time in Columbia this fall watching Clifton play defensive end for the Gamecocks. He has seen both Athens and Columbia and he likes a lot of the same things about each school in those locations.
