Florida lineman commits to CSU
Goldandgreennews.com has confirmed St. Petersburg Defensive Tackle Te' Jay Brown has committed to play football at Colorado State University, starting in the fall of 2009. Brown visited Fort Collins last weekend and enjoyed the trip. He was scheduled to take a visit from CSU head coach Steve Fairchild and offensive line coach Pat Meyer on Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-2, 260-pound Brown had one other visit scheduled - a Jan. 16 trip to see Charleston Southern. It is unclear whether or not he will take that visit. Brown said on Sunday that he liked the community of Fort Collins as well as the improvements that are going on around campus to both the athletic facilities as well as the school itself.
The Florida defensive tackle collected 75 tackles and 10 sacks this year. Colorado State is currently Brown's only scholarship offer, although he is hearing from Louisville, Alabama-Birmingham, Cincinnati, UConn and Grambling.
