Cotton makes his official visit
Mount Pleasant athlete Jordan Cotton has been committed to the Hawkeyes for several now and toured the University of Iowa a number of times in his life, but the official visit always offers a new perspective to recruits. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Cotton, who earned first team all-state honors this season, talks about his official visit this weekend and much more.
Q: How did your visit go this weekend?
COTTON: It went real well. I had a lot of fun.
Q: Who was your host?
COTTON: James Vandenberg.
Q: He came from the same district as you, right?
COTTON: Yep. I've known him for a while now through sports and he showed me around and I met a lot of other players too. I had a good time.
Q: What did he say about his time there so far?
COTTON: He said he's loving it there. He said the coaches are great and they treat you with a lot of respect and everything. He said he's having a great time.
Q: Obviously, you've been there a number of times, what was maybe something different about the official visit?
COTTON: Getting to know the other players and meeting them was different. Actually getting to sit down and talk with the players and everything. Getting to go to Coach Ferentz's house was a lot of fun. Just learning more about the academic program and getting to meet with some of the professors was good too.
