LaVoyd James met new Auburn wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor for the first time this weekend.

Color him impressed.

"He's a good guy," James said. "I liked him. He made me read an article about him -- how he's a good man and a good recruiter. It was about him adopting his football players.

"We connected. We connected very well."

James, a standout receiver at Mobile's Williamson High School is looking forward to playing for Taylor.
