A&M prospects trying to make way at E-W Shrine Game
With just a little over three months to go before the 2009 NFL draft, it's the busiest time of the year for NFL Network Draft Analyst Mike Mayock. Mayock was in Houston Tuesday to get a first-hand look at the players taking part in the East-West Shrine Game and get a better feel for their draft chances. He took a few minutes after the end of the West squad's practice to break down the draft prospects of Texas A&M's Stephen McGee, Jorvorskie Lane and Michael Bennett with AggieYell.com.
Mayock said McGee may be in a position to benefit from a weak crop of signal-callers in this year's draft.
"I think (McGee)'s on the rise," Mayock said. "This is not a good year for senior quarterbacks and he can benefit from that. You've got a lot of teams who haven't found a quarterback they like, and he may be able to climb their board. A lot of people like his athletic ability."
