Alabama quarterback expecting offers
It was bound to happen that high school players would begin imitating Tim Tebow and justifiably so. Tebow has a pair of National Championship rings to go along with a Heisman Trophy.
One of those players that wants to emulate the Florida star is Pinson Valley (Ala.) quarterback Spencer Duncan. At 6-foot-2, 209-pounds, Duncan plans on adding weight over the summer and would like nothing more than to play for the coach that made Tebow a household name in Dan Mullen.
"I know Coach Mullen is looking for a guy that can play like Tim Tebow," Duncan said. "I'm trying my best to. I'm putting on weight. My plan is to put on about 20 pounds before the season starts. I'm at 209 right now but I'm planning on being at 225 by the season with speed. I'm working out everyday, sometimes 2-3 times a day. I'm really just dedicating myself to that and working as hard as I can. I know everybody wants to be like Tim Tebow but if (Mullen) wants another guy like him I think it's really something that is achievable."
Mississippi State is one of several schools that are sending letter to Duncan but appear to already be one of the schools at the top of his list.
"I've gotten mail from Mississippi State but I haven't heard from them but I'd like to," Duncan said. "Mississippi State is a great school. I went by there probably 2-3 years ago and that is somewhere that I would love to go to. I've seen the campus and it's a great place. I know a couple of people that have gone there as students and they said it was a great school. It's somewhere that I would love to go and I would love to play in that offense. I think it's somewhere that I can fit in."
Duncan is also receiving letters from Alabama, UAB, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Southern Miss, Wake Forest and Middle Tennessee.
