Cooper picked up a later offer from Auburn and signed with the Tigers with the knowledge of starting school in the spring, commonly referred to as "grayshirting". But the 6-foot-5, 225-pounder received news recently a spot was open for him and he could join the team in the fall.
AuburnSports.com spoke Cooper about reporting to the Plains now in June, what position he plans to start out at, if he's open to making a move if it's best for the team and more in the next profile story of the 2009 signees.
What have you been doing as far as working out and running? "I've been working with coach Vince McConnell down in Fairhope. We've been doing a lot of stuff to get me in shape for when I go up. We've been pushing a lot of sleds. He's really put a bunch of weight on me in the offseason. I've gained about 20 pounds of good weight. He's really done a great job on me."
