Denison RB waiting recruitment out
Last season, Denison running back D.J. Jones was one of the more productive players at the Clas 4A level in the state of Texas. Jones rushed for over 26 touchdowns in leading Denison deep into the playoffs before an eventual loss to state champion Sulphur Springs derailed its title hopes. Jones averaged nearly 20 carries a game despite often playing only half a game and had a 400-yard, six touchdown performance against McKinney.
This season, the Yellowjackets are 1-1 after a rout over Little Elm and a 27-21 loss to Big Spring. Jones' numbers are down considerably from a year ago as he has just 23 carries for 161 yards and three touchdowns with another touchdown receiving.
The 5-foot-11, 210-poud Rivals.com four-star prospect has scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Florida, Utah and SMU.
