Two of Tulsa's top programs fight ugly battle
MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Through the last several years there have been few schools who have produced more high-level division one talent than Muskogee and Owasso. With players throughout the Big 12 and many more at smaller programs around the region the two met up last Friday night with the thought that more division one players would be on display.
However, with a leg break to the game's highest-rated player Owasso offensive tackle Trent Spurgeon during the week's run-up practices, it seemed the game might have been missing some of it's top talent.
What remained were a trio of defensive backs worthy of recognition, and not surprisingly a sloppy battle of field position ensued with both teams trying to establish mostly futile ground games in a 20-0 victory for Bill Patterson's Rams.
Leading the trio was Owasso Ram, and Sooner commitment, Aaron Colvin.
