McKenzie getting a look at d-end
So far this season, Gabe McKenzie has played sparingly in two games as a backup tight end.
But this Saturday against Ball State, he may see more playing time and it probably won't be at tight end. The senior has been getting work at defensive end this week, a position he played in 10 games last fall.
"We actually put him over there some to look and see if there's a possibility of him being able to help us in some third down situations," Auburn head coach Gene Chizik said. "Obviously, he's played defense before. With the d-line we're always trying to build up depth at different places.
"We've got to be better at third down. I'm not saying that's the answer but we're just looking at some things that could be possibilities."
