North Carolina star heads West
What do you get when you mix Halloween, Autzen Stadium, a night game and College GameDay? Mayhem. But the USC Trojans will not be the only guests in town. Oregon has a huge official visit weekend lined up, including four-star defensive standout Chris McCain from Greensboro, North Carolina.
Chris McCain committed to the Oregon Ducks in early September, but had only taken an unofficial visit to Eugene this last summer for the Oregon Coaches' Camp. This weekend he will fly to Oregon as an official visitor.
"I can't wait," McCain began. "The car is going to pick us up around 6:00 am and then we get to Eugene at around 9:00 am. I think we're going to the hotel then but I'm not sure after that."
Often times visiting recruits are uncommitted and have a specific list of things they are looking for. Having had all his questions answered prior to committing, the nation's 12th rated linebacker is focused on the game this weekend.
"I already know all about the academics so I'm not worried about all that," said McCain. "I'm looking for an upset really. I know what I need to know so that's all I'm looking for when I go out to Eugene: Teamwork."
Originally scheduled for late September, this tall and speedy athlete had to postpone in order to play in his school's season opener.
"I was going to come to the Cal game and I'm kind of glad I didn't by the way Oregon beat them," admitted McCain. "Now we're ranked in the top ten and so is USC, hopefully we can do the same thing to them."
