Miles turns life around and starts over
No one has ever questioned the ability of Nate Miles on the basketball floor. However he has always been perceived to be a problem child off the floor. In the past year Miles attended four high schools and finally made the decision to move out of Toledo, Ohio. Now Miles has a fresh start in Texas and is determined to make the most of it.
"This last year has been real hard. I went to Oak Hill and didn't do what I was supposed to do to stay there. With my sister sick and stuff, she's getting better, I'm doing what I need to do now, and my life is going in a totally different direction," Miles said when asked about the last year of his life.
Now Miles is enrolled at Cornerstone Christian in San Antonio, Texas. The schools and head coach Walt Webb have brought a lot of much needed discipline to Miles' life. "It's real good. I got a good coach and I just needed to get away from home and into a new system so I could just focus on basketball and school. So far it has been working out real good. Everybody cares about everybody. We do formations that they do in the military and stuff, but other than that everybody cares about everybody and everybody looks out for everybody. No favorites there or nothing, everybody just gets along."
