Father of UK prospect says visit beneficial
With Kentucky coming off a two-week stretch which had seen the Wildcats lose four of five games, some may have wondered if Wednesday's game was an opportune time to play host to one of UK's top targets in this year's recruiting class.
After all, Lexington is home to some of the toughest basketball critics in the world, and UK athletics director Mitch Barnhart had just released a statement earlier this week urging concerned fans to wait until the end of the season to judge the Cats.
But according to the father of four-star Houston (Texas) Bellaire point guard Jai Lucas, it was an ideal time for the family to get a more honest appraisal of Kentucky.
Lucas (5-10, 160) has been operating with a list of four primary college choices since the fall: Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.
