Ask the expert: Wake Forest beat writer breaks down the game
Each week, HuskersIllustrated.com will get an in-depth opponent preview with either an opposing team's beat writer or play-by-play voice.
This week, we caught up with Rob Daniels of the Greensboro News & Record to get his thoughts and analysis on Saturday's game at Wake Forest. Find out what Daniels had to say.
With Riley Skinner out of this game, how much of an impact do you see it having for Saturday?
"I don't think it will change what they attempt to do. The coaches have always said even before we knew who Riley Skinner was, that Skinner and Hodges were pretty comparable in terms of styles, talent and vision. I think they'll probably do the same thing on Saturday no matter who's at quarterback. The question will be who else can catch the ball besides Kenneth Moore. He had 15 catches the other day and his teammates didn't really help him. They also couldn't run the ball against BC, so those are the larger issues for Wake Forest."
What's the buzz around this game in Winston-Salem? Is it bigger than most typical non-conference games you can remember?
"This is clearly a much bigger deal. When they have a nonconference home game, the fans are accustomed to seeing Appalachian State, Army and Navy. Nebraska is clearly the highest profile program outside the ACC that's played here. People have been pretty excited for a while here."
