Compton stacked in '09
As if recruiting the top talent from around the country hasn't been made easy enough by their great tradition and recent success, the University of Southern California is sitting on a relative goldmine for its 2009 recruiting class with local Compton (Calif.) High School.
With no less than three Division-I 2009 prospects playing defense for Coach Calvin Bryant, we will look at Chris Metcalf, Curry Williams and Justin Brown over the next few days as they balance the pressure of staying in state with the desire to explore the rest of the country.
Metcalf, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound linebacker, may be the top playmaker on the defensive side of the ball. He will play safety at the next level, but where that will ultimately be is still very much up in the air.
