November 28, 2011Michigan four-star recruit Bri'onte Dunn was in Ann Arbor for the second consecutive week Saturday to see U-M knock off Ohio State. He told the Canton Republic today he's still committed to OSU and will talk to new coach Urban Meyer, but added he doesn't want to play in a spread offense.
"It would appear Dunn does not fit with Meyer's offense if, indeed, he runs the spread offense like he did at Florida, Utah and Bowling Green over a 10-year coaching career," the Republic wrote, perhaps opening the door even further for Michigan.
"I'm still committed to Ohio State," Dunn said Nov. 28. "I just have to wait and see to talk to Urban Meyer. Right now I don't know what to think about [Meyer's hiring]. I know he's a good coach. I know he's a winning coach and I know in the past he ran the spread. I have to talk to him to see, but I don't want to go to a school that runs the spread."
Dunn acknowledged Michigan will likely go to more of a traditional running game out of multiple sets, especially once quarterback Denard Robinson departs.
"I'm pretty sure they're going to change the offense to more of an I-formation offense," Dunn said.
The 6-1, 221-pound Dunn is a bruiser from the tailback position and ran for 1,749 yards as a senior.
