SAN ANTONIO - Deon Bush will be keeping his talents on South Beach.
After considering Auburn and Alabama, the four-star defensive back from Miami Columbus High announced a commitment to Miami during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, adding to a long list of Hurricanes commitments.
"Miami is a great school and at the end of the day it was a great situation for me with them losing a lot of DBs," Bush said. "I felt I could come in and compete for a starting position, and I'm just ready to get on with the next chapter of my life right now."
Alabama and Auburn played host to Bush on consecutive weekends in October while the final official visit went to Miami, which already had five defensive backs on the committed list. Vernon Davis, Nate Dortch, Ladarius Gunter, Larry Hope and Rayshawn Jenkins are already on board.
Miami now boasts 28 commitments in total.
Bush checks in at No. 68 in the latest Rivals100 and No. 5 at the safety position, although it's likely he will move to cornerback in college.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect will follow in his brother's footsteps as BCS-caliber football player. His older brother, Gary, matriculated through Columbus also and is now a sophomore wide receiver at Purdue.
