micholympicsjuly28 Highlights: His Olympic career may be over, but it will never be forgotten.? In yet another classic moment, former Michigan volunteer swimming coach Michael Phelps (2005-08) helped the USA overpower the best the world had to offer with a first place finish in the men's 4x100-meter relay medley.? The victory marks the 18th gold medal of his unprecedented career.

Sticking with swimming, current men's swimmer Connor Jaeger finished sixth in the 1,500-meter freestyle final - a race in which China's Sun Yang set a world-record.? Still, the stiff competition should provide valuable experience for the 2012 All-American and Big Ten champion as he returns to Ann Arbor for his junior year as a Wolverine.

In track and field action, women's heptathlon hopeful, and current Michigan graduate student, Uhunoma Osazuwa needed a strong day to improve upon her 24th-place standing in the event. Unfortunately, she was forced to drop out of the competition due to an injury following the long jump competition.??
