U-M at OSU most in-demand Thanksgiving weekend ticket
Seatgeek.com reports Michigan vs. Ohio State is far and away the toughest ticket in college football this weekend, edging out a number of major rivalry games also scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend. The average price of a ticket to the Michigan vs. Ohio State game is $331.25, making that ticket more expensive than the average ticket price for Auburn at Alabama ($292.90), Notre Dame at USC ($221.05), Oregon at Oregon State ($216.90) or South Carolina at Clemson ($201.39).
Stacked up against all games in College Football this year, this year's Michigan-Ohio State game is the seventh most expensive ticket of the season. The five games that were a tougher ticket this year were Alabama at LSU ($462), Michigan vs. Alabama ($354), Michigan at Notre Dame ($350), LSU at Texas A&M ($340) and Notre Dame at Oklahoma ($336)
This year's Michigan-Ohio State game is expensive, yet it is not the most expensive game between the two teams within the past few years. The average price of the 2010 game between the two teams stood at $388.18, while the 2011 game at Michigan cost fans $230.36 per ticket on average.
Despite the high price of Michigan-Ohio State tickets, the cost of attending this weekend's game has actually been in decline in the past few weeks. Back on Oct. 15, the seven-day trailing average price for a ticket to the game stood at $331, in comparison to an average ticket price of $285 over the past 7 days - a drop of 14 percent in a little over a month.
As it stands now, the cheapest ticket currently available for this weekend's game is a $150 ticket in Section 33B in the Ohio Stadium end zone. However, that ticket listing is just for a single ticket, and the cheapest pair of non-Student tickets will cost you $200/ticket, for a seat in Section 11C.
As for the most expensive tickets in the building? Expect to pay $900 for club seats along the 50-yard line. All of the latest info in ticket prices and availability can be found on SeatGeek's event page for Michigan-Ohio State: SeatGeek.com
