December 3, 2012In a stunning surprise, fifth-year senior safety Jordan Kovas was named Michigan's Team MVP at the annual Football Bust Monday. Kovacs earned the team vote ahead of Denard Robinson ...
Robinson was aiming to become the first three-time recipient of the award in program history, but was edged out by Kovacs likely because the senior QB missed three games due to injury and was limited in a fourth, a loss to Ohio State.
Kovacs, the former walk-on who was forced to twice try-out for the team, served as a true inspiration for his teammates, was one of the smartest players on the team, and a real leader for the defense, which was largely responsible for U-M's 6-2 finish after a 2-2 non-conference start.
