Michigan Guide: Offense-Defense All-America Bowl
The recruiting attention of Michigan fans this week is on San Antonio and Central Florida - and rightfully so with 10 U-M commits in the Army and Under Armour All-American Games. There are other bowls of note, however, including the Offense-Defense Bowl this evening.
Where: Reliant Stadium, Houston, Texas
When: 7 p.m. CST
How to Watch: Streaming on the O-D Bowl website.
The Players to Watch
Michigan Commits: None
Michigan Targets: Aurora (Colo.) Ralston Valley offensive lineman Dan Skipper (Tennessee commit).
Big Ten Commits:
Skipper is the only active Michigan recruit - Though Reschke was offered late in the fal, he's likely to stick with Michigan State - participating (such are the downsides of having four commits in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl alone), but he could be a key one. The 6-10, 295-pounder visited Ann Arbor Dec. 14 with most of the U-M class on campus. Though he's committed to Tennessee, he wants to take his remaining official visits before making a final decision.
The O-D All-America Bowl is Michigan fans' chance to see Skipper in live action, since he didn't pop up on the Wolverine radar until after the conclusion of his season. He projects to left tackle at the next level, and is one of just a few options to fill a sixth offensive line slot in the 2013 Michigan class.
Stay tuned for more from the Offense-Defense All-America Bowl and the rest of this week's national all-star contests.
