By now, Michigan fans are fully aware of the fact that the Wolverines are heading to Blooming, Ind. this weekend to take on the Hooisers in a top-five matchup that is quickly becoming perhaps the most hyped-up game of the 2012-13 season.

This is relatively new territory for the top-ranked Wolverines.

Michigan has not played a top-10 team as a top-10 team since the 1996-97 season, when the fourth-ranked Wolverines downed No. 6 Arizona, 73-71, in an early-season clash.

Saturday will mark the 34th time in program history that Michigan has engaged in a top-10 showdown.

The Wolverines have an 18-15 record in such games, including an 8-8 record in true road games.

Top-five contests are even more rare in program history, obviously.

The Wolverines have played a top-five team as a top-five team just 10 times, ever, with a 5-5 record in those games.

Michigan hasn't won such a game since the 1988-89 season, when the third-ranked Wolverines beat No. 4 Oklahoma, 91-80, in the Maui Classic.

Here's a breakdown of Michigan's all-time top-10 games:
