July 6, 2013It appears Michigan basketball's staff will remain intact for at least another year. Brandon Miller, not U-M assistant LaVall Jordan, will become the next head coach of the Butler men's basketball team, the Indianapolis Star reported Saturday afternoon.
Miller interviewed with athletic director Barry Collier on Wednesday shortly after Brad Stevens accepted the head coaching job with the Boston Celtics. Jordan interviewed Friday. Both coaches were Butler players and assistants
Jordan started as an assistant at Butler and Iowa under Todd Lickliter, and his career has taken off under John Beilein at Michigan. He's helped coach Darius Morris and Trey Burke to the NBA, has another good young one coming in freshman Derrick Walton Jr. and is scheduled to make $160,000 this year with a bonus of $20,000 for coaching at U-M next year.
Miller returned to Butler as an assistant in April after assistant coaching stints at Illinois and Ohio State (under former Butler coach Thad Matta).
