Hill in action
Four-star cornerback Cris Hill is one of three players representing the Commonwealth of Virginia in the upcoming inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl.
The game is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The contest will be televised live by ESPNU.
"I was really amazed and honored to be nominated for it," he said. "I felt like I came a long way. I'm still kind of shocked about being invited. It was a real big surprise for me."
Hill isn't looking to prove anything in the all-star game. Instead, the 5-foot-11, 166-pound corner just wants to do his best.
"I figure this will be a very good chance for me to play against some of the top players in the country. I want to use this opportunity to see where I am in comparison to everybody else."
The Rivals250 star is one of a handful of recruits still uncommitted.
"I'm down to Tennessee, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Florida," he said. "I've been to all of those schools this past summer with the exception of Florida. I really like each coaching staff and they are all winning programs that I could see myself at."
The Virginia prospect was impressive as a wide receiver and cornerback this season.
"I earned offensive player of the year for the district after receiving for 650 yards and 12 touchdowns. I also had 250 yards rushing. Defensively I ended up with 35 tackles and three interceptions."
