February 1, 2007 The Indianapolis Star today is reporting that Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren Central four-star safety Jerimy Finch is considering Michigan once again. The 6-2, 210-pound Finch had decommitted from Michigan earlier this month in favor of Indiana. Michigan coaches have continued to pursue Finch, however, and their efforts appear to be paying off."It's really 50-50 right now between Indiana and Michigan,'' Finch told the newspaper in it's Thursday edition. This past weekend, Finch had made an official visit to Florida, but it now appears the Gators are out of the running. As recently as Monday, he had said the decision was down to Indiana and Florida and he was 50/50 between those two schools. Florida received a verbal commitment from instate safety Major Wright, ranked as the No. 2 safety prospect in the country behind Finch, on Tuesday, a factor that may have played into the Gators exit from his list. Michigan assistant coaches Mike DeBord and Ron English have made several in-school visits since Finch's decommitment following a Jan. 12 weekend official visit to Indiana. He cited wanting to join several fellow Warren Central teammates who have committed to Indiana as one of the main reasons for the switch in commitments. Warren Central head coach Steve Tutsie said there were other factors as well. "One big factor was that our academic advisor at Warren Central for the last three years was hired at Indiana over the summer," Tutsie told TheWolverine last week. "She has a great rapport with Jerimy." Finch is expected to make his final decision sometime early next week. National Signing Day is Wednesday, Feb. 7.
